1965 Michigan State-Michigan basketball program

The cover features Wolverine Hall of Famers Cazzie Russell and Bill Buntin.

At this Jan. 26, 1965 game, the host Spartans lost in overtime to No. 2 ranked Michigan, 103-98. Cazzie Russell scored 34 points for the Wolverines.

MSU's starting lineup, coached by Forddy Anderson, included Bill Curtis, Bob Miller, Ted Crary, Stan Washington and Marcus Sanders.

Michigan's starting lineup, coached by Dave Strack, included Russell, Buntin, Oliver Darden, George Pomey and Larry Tregoning. The Wolverines finished with a 18-8 record, captured the Big Ten championship, then lost in the Elite Eight.
