1964 Michigan State-Michigan basketball program
At this Jan. 25, 1964 game, the host Spartans lost to No. 2 ranked Michigan, 91-77. Cazzie Russell scored 34 points for the Wolverines.
MSU's starting lineup, coached by Forddy Anderson, included Pete Gent, Bill Berry, Fred Thomann, Stan Washington and Marcus Sanders.
Michigan's starting lineup, coached by Dave Strack, included Cazzie Russell, Bill Buntin, Oliver Darden, Bob Cantell and Larry Tregoning. The Wolverines finished with a 23-5 record, captured the Big Ten championship, then lost to Duke in the semifinals of the NCAA Final Four.
