At this Dec. 14, 1957 game, the host ninth-ranked Spartans defeated Detroit, 84-44.

MSU's starting lineup, coached by Forddy Anderson, included Johnny Green, Jack Quiggle, Bob Anderegg, Larry Hedden and Dave Scott.

Colorado's starting lineup, coached by Russ Walseth, included Leo Hayward, Mohn Musciano, Don Walker, Gerry Schroeder and Darrell Bolen.
