At this Jan. 15, 1952 game, the host Spartans lost to Notre Dame, 56-48.

MSU's starting lineup, coached by Pete Newell, included Bill Bower, Keith Stackhouse, Bob Carey, Sonny Means and Gordon Stauffer.

Notre Dame's starting lineup, coached by John Jordan, included Joe Bertrand, Leroy Leslie, Dick Rosenthal, Don Strasser and Entee Shine.
