1951 Michigan State v. Northwestern basketball program

At this Feb. 12, 1951 game, the host Spartans defeated Northwestern, 52-48.

MSU's starting lineup, coached by Pete Newell, included Bill Bower, Ray Steffen, Bob Carey, Sonny Means and Gordon Stauffer.

Northwestern's starting lineup, coached by Ole Olsen, included Jake Fendley, Don Blasius, Ray Ragelis, Bernie Brady and Wally Horvatich.
