The 2014 Fighting Illini, Coach Tim Beckman's final Illinois squad, compiled a 6-7 overall record, including a season-ending loss versus Louisiana Tech in Zaxby's Heart of Dallas Bowl. Captains Justin DeVernois, Reilly O'Toole, Austin Teitsma and Earnest Thomas III played with all-star receiver Mike Dudek, safety Taylor Barton, cornerback V'Angelo Bentley, offensive guard Ted Karras and linebacker Mason Monheim.
