The 2021-22 Fighting Illini squad was Brad Underwood's fifth team at Illinois and shared the Big Ten Championship. The standout players included first-team All-American Kofi Cockburn, Trent Frazier, Alfonso Plummer, Coleman Hawkins, Da'Monte Williams, Jacob Grandison, Andre Curbelo, Luke Goode and R.J. Melendez.

The '21-22 Illini finished with a 23-10 overall record and made it to the second round of the 2022 NCAA Tournament.
