Bruce Weber's final Illini team, the 2011-12 squad, went 17-15 overall. Victories over nationally ranked opponents included one in December against Gonzaga (#19), and aa couple versus Ohio State (#5) and Michigan State (#9) in January. The team's regular lineup included Tyler Griffey, Meyers Leonard, Tracy Abrams, D.J. Richardson and Brandon Paul.
