The 2016-17 Illini basketball team, Coach John Groce's final Illinois squad, went 20-15 overall and played three games in the NIT postseason tourney. Malcolm Hill, Jalen Coleman-Lands, Tracy Abrams, Leron Black, Te'Jon Lucas and Maverick Morgan comprised Illinois' starting five.
