Billy Cannon (born Aug. 2, 1937 – died May 20, 2018) was a Heisman Trophy winning running back for the 1958 Tigers team that earned the national championship.

Charles Alexander(born Oct. 9, 1985) was an All-America defensive tackle for LSU from 2004-09.

Tommy Casanova(born July 29, 1950) was a two-time consensus All-American at LSU and later a three-time All-Pro for the Cincinnati Bengals.

Doug Moreau (born Feb. 15, 1945) played for the LSU Tigers and later worked as both a radio and TV analyst on the Tiger networks.

Jerry Stovall(born Apr. 30, 1941) was a unanimous All-America selection in 1962 at LSU. He was named the conference's Most Valuable Player in 1962 en route to finishing as the Heisman Trophy runner-up behind Oregon State's Terry Baker.
